Martha’s Village and Kitchen, one of the largest providers of homeless and impoverished services in the Coachella Valley and Riverside County, announced today that Toyota of the Desert will be the Title Sponsor of their Thanksgiving Day 5K run for the next two years.
“The Thanksgiving Day 5K is our largest fundraiser for the year and Toyota of the Desert’s support will help us do even more to provide hope and assistance for our clients who need it so much,” said Jonathan Espy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Martha’s. “We’ve had a great relationship with Toyota of the Desert for a long time, but they have really taken it to a new level and we’re very grateful for their support.”

The event, which runs on El Paseo in Palm Desert, had almost 2,500 participants and a total attendance of nearly 4,500 in 2023. This year Martha’s hopes to attract more participants, including corporate teams. There will soon be an opportunity for participants to sign up for peer-to-peer fundraising to help support the work Martha’s does. Martha’s Village and Kitchen provides life-changing resources and programs to help the homeless in the Coachella Valley. They operate facilities in Indio, Desert Hot Springs, and two in Palm Springs. In 2023 they served over 295,000 meals, provided housing to over 600 people, helped more than 900 seniors, and conducted employment and job skills classes for over 550 people. Their Child Care program serves 55 children and was recently rated 5 out of 5 by the Riverside County Quality Start Program.
