The City of Indio’s Economic Development Department is proud to announce the launch of Indio Business Connect (IBC), an innovative new program designed to support the growing needs of Indio’s business community. Introduced at the 2024 State of the City on October 1, IBC is a reflection of Indio’s ongoing commitment to fostering a strong, resilient, and prosperous business environment. Indio Business Connect membership is free for all Indio-based businesses and includes a variety of exclusive benefits.
Fully funded by the City, IBC provides a comprehensive range of services, resources, and events to help businesses—whether startups or long-established—succeed and grow. The program offers exclusive benefits such as networking opportunities, business development resources, and special events aimed at promoting collaboration and innovation. IBC is focused on building lasting relationships within the local business ecosystem, helping members navigate challenges with the backing of the City’s dedicated support network.
Indio Business Connect is strengthened through key partnerships, including collaborations with California State University, San Bernardino’s (CSUSB) School of Entrepreneurship, the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE), and the Coachella Valley Women’s Business Center. These partnerships enhance the program’s ability to deliver valuable resources to Indio businesses.
In partnership with the Coachella Valley Women’s Business Center, Indio-based businesses can apply for the ¡Tú Sí Puedes! Programa para Pequeñas Empresas (TSP), a free 12-week Spanish-language program and an English version, It’s Your Time. These programs includes seminars, business advising, and resources to help entrepreneurs succeed through education and mentorship. Through the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship, IBC will offer a Mini MBA program for Indio business owners and entrepreneurs, providing tools and educational resources to help them grow and elevate their businesses.
Indio Business Connect membership also includes expanded Shop Local initiatives, such as seasonal promotions and community events to support local businesses, one-on-one consulting, a monthly newsletter called Indio Impact, and regular business mixers and
networking events. The program will also offer ribbon cuttings and grand opening celebrations for new and expanding businesses, as well as access to professional photography services to help businesses promote themselves. Workshops and roundtable discussions on topics such as leasing, payroll, HR, and legal matters will also be provided to members at no cost.
This program is designed to elevate businesses, foster innovation, and strengthen the overall economic vitality of the city. By providing resources like business advising, free educational programs, and networking events, IBC ensures that every Indio business has access to the tools needed to thrive.
