On Tuesday, March 4, the Coachella Valley community supported local nonprofits for the third annual Coachella Valley Giving Day (CV Giving Day). The campaign helped raise more than $822,000 for 136 local nonprofits from over 1,300 donors.
“We are truly inspired by the incredible response from the Coachella Valley,” said Jake Wuest, FirstBank California Market President. “The generosity shown this year has surpassed our expectations, and we’re excited to see how CV Giving Day continues to grow in the years ahead.”
FirstBank, one of the nation’s largest privately held banks with a focus on “banking for good,” and Desert Community Foundation (DCF) launched CV Giving Day in 2023 to increase philanthropy and awareness of local causes. Since its inception, CV Giving Day has raised over $2 million for Coachella Valley nonprofits.
“At Desert Community Foundation, we’re all about making it simple for people to give back,” said Mary Panesar, Executive Director. “CV Giving Day transforms this intention into action, creating connections between donors and the causes they’re passionate about. Two years in a row of raising over $800,000, shows just how eager our community is to make a difference in the Coachella Valley.”
192 nonprofits registered for CV Giving Day this year. FirstBank, DCF, the Regional Access Project Foundation (RAP), Amazon, and the Auen Foundation contributed to a $145,000 incentive fund to increase nonprofit support. The incentive fund was distributed in cash prizes to participating nonprofits, ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 across several categories.
