Remembering Bill Miller
A Beloved Friend, Volunteer, and Champion of Our Community
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our longtime volunteer and dear friend, Bill Miller, who died yesterday, February 25, 2026, after facing ongoing heart-related health challenges.
Bill was an essential part of the Cathedral City Senior Center family for many years. He built and maintained the backbone of our Center’s technology infrastructure—our computers, phone system, cameras, and network—all with a level of dedication and precision that only Bill could bring. He could be a bit ornery at times, but anyone who knew him quickly recognized the truth: Bill had a heart of gold and an unwavering commitment to helping others.
Bill also founded 65 Check, a service that provides daily wellness check-in calls that help keep California seniors safe, supported, and independent. He recognized how vital connection is—especially for older adults living alone—and created a solution that offers peace of mind to families and dignity to seniors.
When I started as CEO in 2019, Bill Miller was one of the first people I leaned on, and he helped steady the ground under my feet. Alongside Greg Lindell and Tom Tomlinson, Bill became part of a small executive volunteer team that brought real-world expertise to our earliest systems, policies, and procedures, from database integrity to the kind of operational discipline that keeps an organization healthy. And Bill didn’t just advise, he built. He was literally up in our ceilings running wiring, strengthening our network and security, and keeping our technology infrastructure working so we could focus on people.
He also had a gift for rallying support, securing donations like pallets of water and countless other essentials for our work. Bill’s guidance and friendship mattered to me personally, and his impact on this Center will be felt for years. Even in his final chapter, he kept serving, and Vic and I were proud to support that spirit by joining the board of his newest effort, 65 Check, because Bill never stopped looking for practical ways to keep seniors safe, connected, and cared for.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to everyone in our community who loved and appreciated Bill. May his memory be a blessing, and may we continue the work he cared about so deeply.
If we learn more about a celebration of life, we will let you know.
Geoff Corbin, CEO
