Community donations to the Palm Springs AIDS Memorial will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $100,000, as December 1, 2026, unveiling approaches.
The Palm Springs AIDS Memorial Task Force is thrilled to announce a transformational $100,000 matching gift from DAP Health to help complete the Palm Springs AIDS Memorial, currently under construction in Downtown Park and scheduled to be unveiled on December 1, 2026—World AIDS Day.
Through this matching gift, DAP Health will match every new donation to the Palm Springs AIDS Memorial dollar-for-dollar, up to a total of $100,000. The challenge comes at a pivotal moment, with fabrication of the Memorial well underway and preparation for its site infrastructure already in progress.
“DAP Health was created by a community that refused to let people face the AIDS crisis alone. The Palm Springs AIDS Memorial will create a permanent place to remember the lives we lost, honor those who cared for them, and help future generations understand the courage and compassion that shaped our community,” said DAP Health CEO David Brinkman. “We are proud to deepen our support and invite others to help bring this important Memorial to completion.”
The Palm Springs AIDS Memorial Task Force has raised significant support for the project through contributions from the City of Palm Springs, approximately 900 individuals, businesses, and community organizations, and other supporters. About $200,000 remains to complete fundraising for the Memorial and its accompanying Online Experience.

With this latest major gift, every contribution to the Memorial can now be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $100,000. This is an extraordinary opportunity for our community to double the impact of its support and help us complete fundraising for a lasting tribute that honors the lives lost to HIV/AIDS while educating, informing, and inspiring future generations.”
The Palm Springs AIDS Memorial will provide a permanent place in Downtown Park for residents and visitors to gather, remember, share stories, and reflect on the profound impact of HIV/AIDS on individuals, families, and the community. The Memorial will honor lives lost, while recognizing the courage of long-term survivors and the compassion of family members, friends, caregivers, healthcare workers, advocates, and others who stood beside them.
With the December 1 unveiling just months away, the Task Force is encouraging the community to take advantage of DAP Health’s matching gift and help ensure the Memorial and Online Experience are completed in time for the World AIDS Day dedication.
