Miranda Lambert’s Muttnation Pampers Five Shelters with SPA Days for the Dog

As part of its 10th Anniversary celebration MuttNation Foundation, founded by Miranda and her mom, Bev Lambert, introduced a new program: SPA Days (Shelter Pet Adoption) developed to help animal rescues increase their adoption numbers. The program was rolled out with five shelters and provided each rescue with a “toolkit” that included collars for their adoptable dogs, a MuttNation banner customized with their shelter’s name, and a check for $1,000 to help cover the costs of their event – as well as lots of promotional support through MuttNation’s social media channels.

The five participating shelters were: FurKids of Atlanta (GA), SCRAPS (WA), APA Adoption Center of Missouri (MO), Corridor Rescue (TX), and South Suburban Humane Society of Chicago (IL). Over 130 animals found forever homes through SPA Days, with each shelter claiming their highest single-day adoption rate.  Lindsey Soffes, Regional Director of Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Services said, “MuttNation’s support energized our community for the benefit of our shelter animals and led to our most successful adoption day ever! 51 of our darlings found their forever families.”

All five of the selected SPA Days shelters had previously joined forces with Miranda’s animal-loving music fans for her Fill the Little Red Wagon initiative where, at every stop along her tour, concert-goers were invited to bring pet food, treats, and supplies to benefit a pre-selected local shelter. One lucky donor and their guest were also treated to a meet-and-greet with Miranda. “Fill the Little Red Wagon is one way I can help shelters while I’m on the road, giving them visibility and helping them stock up on food and supplies – and it’s great to have a chance to connect more closely with some of my mutt-loving fans,” Miranda said.

MuttNation is celebrating its 10th Anniversary throughout the year and Miranda, Bev, and the MuttNation Team send thanks to all of the passionate supporters who have made these first 10 years so successful.
