Coachella Valley Healthcare & Community Leaders Launch New Mobile Medical Clinic on Dec. 2

An unveiling and ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new, $366,500, mobile medical clinic for the Coachella Valley will take place at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2.

The mobile clinic — which is the result of collaborative efforts of the Desert Healthcare District and Foundation, Coachella Valley Resource Conservation District, Desert Physicians Medical Group (DPMG) Health, and other community partners — will be unveiled at Desert Regional Medical Center, 1140 N. Indian Canyon Drive, Palm Springs.

The new mobile clinic is a 26-foot vehicle with two examination rooms, a full bathroom, and other amenities. It will be licensed and operated by DPMG Health, providing services to traditionally underserved communities across the valley.

As a community partner of the Desert Healthcare District and Foundation, you are invited to attend the event, which will include clinic tours and COVID-19 vaccines, flu shots and other health screenings. Remarks about the significance of the mobile clinic and plans for its use will be provided by valley health and community leaders:

  • Conrado Bárzaga, Desert Healthcare District and Foundation CEO
  • Blaine Carian, Coachella Valley Resource Conservation District vice-president
  • George Tudor, Growing Coachella Valley founding board member and current president
  • Dr. Gemma Kim, Chief Academic Officer with Desert Physicians Medical Group Health
