Green Room Theatre Company Coachella Valley Holding Season Auditions

Sign-ups are now being accepted for August 17 and August 18

Green Room Theatre Company Coachella Valley (GRTCCV), now in its 16th successful season, will hold auditions for three dynamic productions scheduled for the 2024/2025 season. Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 17 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., with callbacks on Sunday, August 18 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Actor’s Equity and non-union roles have competitive pay and highly inclusive casts.

The scheduled productions are:

Black Butterfly, Jaguar Girl, Pinata Woman and Other Superhero Girls Like Me by MacArthur Genius Award-Winner Luis Alfaro

  • Casting five teen-looking Latina actresses to play roles of 13-to-18-year-old girls. This bilingual touring production presents a combination of sometimes heartbreaking, often amusing stories, poems, and scenes from the lives of five girls growing up in East Los Angeles.

As You Like It In One Hour/Como Te Gusta En Una Hora, adapted from Shakespeare by GRTCCV’s Artistic Director David Catanzarite

  • A rapid-fire staged reading of the Bard’s greatest gender-bending comedy in contemporary English, Spanish, and Shakespeare’s original language. All roles can be played by female-presenting or male-presenting actors.

Tony ‘n Tico’s Wedding adapted from Tony ‘n Tina’s Wedding by Artificial Intelligence Collective”

  • Tony ‘n Tico’s Wedding is a licensed LGBTQ+ adaptation of Tony ‘n Tina’s Wedding, the long-running Off-Broadway immersive experience by Artificial Intelligence Collective. Casting Trans and Non-Trans actors and actresses, and one Deejay.

For all productions, a working knowledge of Spanish is desirable but not required. Auditions will be held at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church at 45319 Deglet Noor Street near downtown Indio.
