Old Town Artisan Studios (OTAS) will hold its Color the World Gala on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. The event will take place in the Fiesta Ballroom at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa, 41-000 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage.
Hosted by Emmy-award winning anchor Peter Daut of KESQ TV, the event will raise much needed funds to continue the organization’s mission of providing positive art experiences for area residents regardless of age, ability, or financial circumstances, and to ensure that art remains a vibrant part of the creative fabric of the Coachella Valley. OTAS offers fee-exempt classes for underserved groups, including youth and those with special needs. Over the last two years, the organization has provided over 68,000 art experiences throughout the entire Coachella Valley.
The evening, designed and produced by Palm Springs based Momentous, will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner and the program. The gala will include a special performance by Victory Brinker, a classical singing sensation best known as the first ever Group Golden Buzzer winner and finalist on America’s Got Talent, as well as the Guinness World Record’s Youngest Opera Singer; and also the Boys of December ’63, a Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons tribute show.
There will also be an exciting live auction with one-of-a-kind experiences and original artwork, and a “palette” raise to further solicit the funds needed to support OTAS’s outreach programs which, through collaboration with local organizations, provides art classes to children and adults with special needs, as well as seniors and veterans. Old Town Artisan Studios is committed to filling the gap with art instruction in after-school programs.
The organization’s Heart of the Community Award will be presented to the founder of OTAS, Victory and Richard Grund, who are being recognized for their outstanding commitment to the arts and this organization. Victory discovered firsthand the therapeutic and healing power of “hands-on” art after the loss of her parents. Witnessing budget cuts in school arts programs, she and Richard founded Old Town Artisan Studios to provide a place for the arts to always be available for all ages and abilities.
“Art has a healing power and allows us to explore our creative selves,” said OTAS Board President Betty Saidel . “Our efforts help keep art alive for our community residents. Everyone attending the gala will make a difference in impacting the lives of others through art.”
