The annual Holiday Wreath Auction returns with a sold-out event Wednesday at Eight4Nine Restaurant & Lounge, raising money for The LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert and the Palm Springs Animal Shelter.
More than 20 custom-made holiday wreaths donated by community members will be auctioned off live. Many more one-of-kind wreaths are available through the online auction that remains open until 7 p.m., Wednesday.
The Holiday Wreath Auction continues a 30-year legacy of philanthropy started by community advocate and businessowner Dick Haskamp, who owned Streetbar in Palm Springs where the first wreath auction was held. Haskamp died in 2018, but the annual event lives on raising money for two organizations he long supported.
