The afternoon will feature more than 35 local organizations, live music, family activities & giveaways
The Shops at Palm Desert welcomes the community for its first-ever Nonprofit Fair this Friday, August 29, from 3 to 6 p.m. located within the Main Court, Level One, at The Shops at Palm Desert. This free, family-friendly event celebrates the spirit of giving back by connecting residents with more than 35 local nonprofits serving the Coachella Valley.
Presented in partnership with the Palm Desert YMCA and the Academy of Musical Performance (AMP), the Nonprofit Fair will highlight organizations making a difference in areas including animal welfare, the arts, health, food access, youth programs, family support, environmental care and more. Attendees can learn about services, discover volunteer opportunities, and meet the dedicated people working to uplift the community.
“The Nonprofit Fair is about shining a light on the incredible work happening right here in our backyard,” said Nayyan Chandler, Marketing Manager at The Shops at Palm Desert. “Our goal is to create a space where people can discover resources, connect with causes they care about, and feel inspired to make a difference. We’re proud to bring the community together in a meaningful and fun way.”
Event highlights include live music by talented youth from AMP, plus a live band performance (3–5:30 p.m.); a Kids Craft Zone hosted with the Palm Desert YMCA; adoptable dogs from local rescue nonprofits; a $300 gift card pack giveaway (register and complete an event passport for a chance to win); and a bonus giveaway basket plus store prizes awarded at 5:30 p.m.
The event is open to the public and promises something for everyone – from families and individuals looking to learn about local resources, to those eager to volunteer and support a cause.
