California CareForce Reschedules 2020 Coachella Clinic

California Careforce Postpones Free Healthcare Clinic to September 18 and 19, 2020

Based on the spread of Covid-19 in Riverside County and the recommendations from the State Department of Public Health and Riverside County Public Health, California CareForce has rescheduled the 2020 Coachella Valley clinic to September 18 and 19.

“The safety of our staff, volunteers and patients is our highest priority,” said Pamela Congdon, California CareForce Founder and Executive Director. “We understand many people in the Coachella Valley are relying on our services, which is why we’ve decided to reschedule, rather than cancel altogether.”

Those who have already signed up to volunteer for the March 27 and 28 clinic date will remain on the volunteer list for the September 18 and 19 clinic.

Volunteer registration will be frozen on March 31 and re-open in late June/ early July.

More than 500 volunteers from throughout California are projected to provide critical care for an anticipated 600 people per day. All services are FREE; clinic participants need NO proof of insurance, employment, income, residency, immigration status or an ID to receive them.

The clinic will have 68 dental chairs, 16 medical exam rooms, and ten vision lanes. A vision lab will produce free prescription eyeglasses on-site. Dentistry will include x-rays, cleanings, fillings, and extractions in addition to partial dentures. Medical doctors will provide services ranging from consultation and diagnosis to minor medical procedures while nurses will staff triage areas and provide medical assistance.

Professional volunteers are needed in numerous capacities including oral surgeons, dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, dental x-ray techs, opticians, ophthalmic techs, physicians, nurse practitioners, RNs, EMTs, acupuncturists and chiropractors.
