Challenged Athletes Fundraiser – Sponsor Chef Andrew Copley

An accident in February 2022 resulting in numerous treatments and surgeries ultimately led to Andrew’s below knee amputation on August 26, 2022. Before Andrew’s amputation he was resolved not to give up on his hopes, dreams and goals. Immediately his competitive spirit kicked in and he started exploring ways to continue to do all the sports he loves.

As he started to learn and explore his options, he was struck by how much support and guidance he has received from professionals and other amputees. All this help has made it possible for him to move forward with more clarity, purpose and passion.

Andrew received his first running blade through a grant from CAF and he was able to participate in his first triathlon in September 2023. He is determined to continue to train and compete in marathons and more triathlons to raise money and awareness for other challenged athletes. The money CAF receives is spent almost entirely to help challenged athletes of all ages to have the tools and resources to join in a wide range of sports.

“As a new amputee I have been humbled by the community and support of the Challenged Athletes Foundation… Thank you” -Andrew Copley
