CREATE Center for the Arts Moves to the San Pablo Corridor

CREATE Center for the Arts is relocating to a larger facility along the San Pablo Corridor. The new 20,000 square foot building will host a variety of programs including painting, drawing, printmaking, gardening, fiber arts, film, photography and wellness. The central location of the building is ideal for serving the entire Coachella Valley and providing access to resources to as many residents as possible. The mission of the center is to create community enrichment through the arts.

CREATE’s new home is the previous location of Venus – The Healing Arts Center located at 73600 Alessandro Drive, Palm Desert 92260.

CREATE Center for the Arts plans to enhance the unique features in the building, making the saunas, jacuzzi and salt cave available to patrons through a new wellness arts program. This program will also include a variety of classes including Tai Chi and yoga. The new location will also host a photography dark room, broadcast film studio, a state-of-the-art digital design lab and the only independent fine art supply store in the Coachella Valley.

CREATE Center for the Arts was founded in 2016 by local artist Debra Mumm. The organization has moved three times since then to accommodate added programs and services. Debra hopes that this move will settle CREATE into it’s forever home. “The new building is fantastic and we can’t wait to share it with our community,” Mumm said.

The building will open to the public in January, with strict safety precautions in place, offering a limited selection of classes and programs. CREATE Center is working with other individuals and organizations in the Valley to find ways to continue to bring the arts to residents during this time.
