Dr. Carreón Foundation Now Accepting Scholarship Applications

Dr. Carreón Foundation (DCF) has officially opened its scholarship application process and invites high school seniors and college students to apply for a 2024 scholarship. The Foundation will accept applications up until March 24. In 2023, the Foundation expanded its mission to include other minority ethnicities in addition to Mexican-American applicants. The program also now includes the entire Eastern Inland Empire.

Qualifications to apply include being a full-time high school senior in the Eastern Inland Empire and Blythe or enrolled as a full-time student in college or a trade school; have earned at least a 3.0 unweighted grade point average for all four years of high school work completed; and can demonstrate qualities of good citizenship, leadership, and financial need.

Dr. Carreón Foundation has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to more than 900 students. The scholarship awards for 2023 proved a record-breaking year awarding nearly 100 students with approximately $270,000. Recipients have attended schools locally and across the country including College of the Desert, Cal State San Bernardino Palm Desert Campus, the University of Southern California, UCLA, MIT, and Harvard University, to name a few. Working in collaboration with OneFuture Coachella Valley (OFCV) to raise money to support the scholarship program, every dollar donated to the Foundation is matched by OFCV and the Foundation to become three.
