Dr. Carreon Foundation Scholarship Application Process Now Open

Local area high school seniors of
Mexican-American heritage can apply

Dr. Carreon Foundation (DCF) is now accepting applications for 2021 scholarships, available to full-time high school seniors in the Coachella Valley and Blythe who have Mexican ancestry, have earned at least a 3.0 unweighted grade point average for all four years of high school work completed, and are able to demonstrate qualities of good citizenship, leadership and financial need.

In 2020, over 60 scholarships were awarded to students from Palm Springs Unified School District, Desert Sands Unified School District, Coachella Valley Unified School District and Palo Verde Unified School District. Scholarship monies can be used toward tuition, living expenses, or school supplies while pursuing higher education by attending college or a vocational trade school.

Dr. Carreon Foundation has awarded more than $1.7 million in total scholarships to more than 700 students who have attended schools locally and across the country including College of the Desert, Cal State San Bernardino Palm Desert Campus, the University of Southern California, UCLA, MIT and Harvard University, to name a few.

Scholarship applications will be accepted through March 31, 2021, but it is recommended to submit an application as soon as possible, at www.carreonfoundation.org.
