Eisenhower Health Presents SongShine’s Annual Benefit “Expanding Our Reach”

SongShine Foundation, the only organization of its kind serving the Coachella Valley, will host its annual benefit luncheon on December 3, 2022 at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa, presented by Eisenhower Health.

There will be a raffle, silent auction, and a Fund the Need presentation to raise support for SongShine, which provides music and creative drama-based vocal therapy for those with Parkinson’s, stroke, other neurological disorders, and aging voices.

Eisenhower’s Dr. Neal Hermanowicz, one of SongShine’s founding supporters, looks forward to the benefit: “The services provided by SongShine for my patients with Parkinson’s Disease, stroke, and other neurological disorders, as well as aging, have had a substantial impact on my patients’ ability to communicate and have enhanced their quality of life. I have been and will continue to be a strong supporter and advocate for the classes, programs and instructor trainings that SongShine provides. I look forward to seeing the organization continue to flourish by building strategic partnerships and reaching more patients in need.”

Dr. Ruthanna Metzgar, Founder, and Peter Harris, Artistic Director, will present Cecilia Cohen as the 2022 Honoree and Mitch Karasov will receive the Distinguished Service Award. The SongShine Singers and Players will perform special music.

SongShine was founded by Dr. Ruthanna Metzgar in 2006 at the request of The Traub Parkinson’s Center at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, CA. SongShine partners with speech pathologists, neurologists, physicians, and stroke centers to identify patients who can benefit from vocal therapy classes.
