Green Room Theatre Company is leveling up their programming and staffing this coming season all thanks to a $100,000 grant presented by the Tammis Day Foundation to the organization earlier this month. This grant follows an initial $2,500 provided by the Foundation back in December 2025 that kickstarted the partnership.
“On behalf of the Tammis Day Foundation, we are proud to support the performing arts in the Coachella Valley. After beginning to follow the Green Room Theatre’s programs in 2025, we have been impressed by its impact, creativity, and commitment to the community. We look forward to a strong and lasting partnership together,” said Nila Rodriguez, Executive Director.
The guidelines for the $100,000 grant stipulate that half of the funds be applied towards two to three artistic productions which will be selected by the Foundation. The second half is to be applied toward administrative fees, which Green Room Theatre Company invested towards bringing on two new part time positions – an education manager and bookkeeping intern.
The education manager position is a new position to the organization that will focus on developing and overseeing education and outreach programming for youth, teens, adults, and community partners, and will also help expand educational opportunities throughout the Coachella Valley with a focus on underserved communities.
“This generous grant launches Green Room Theatre into a whole new world of funding, and enables us to continue paying top talent while expanding our organization as we head into our 18th season,” said Founding Artistic Director David Catanzarite.
Planning is currently under way for Green Room Theatre’s upcoming season which is set to kick off fall 2026. For more information about upcoming productions and programming, visit www.grtccv.org
