Coachella Valley residents have one week left to nominate a local homeowner in need of cooling help before summer heat arrives.
Hydes Air Conditioning & Electrical is reminding the Coachella Valley community that nominations for its 2026 Gift of Cooling program close Sunday, May 31.
Now in its 10th consecutive year, Gift of Cooling gives local families and individuals in need the opportunity to receive a new home comfort system or another cooling solution at no cost, depending on the needs of the home.
The program was created as a way for Hydes to use its skills, resources, and team to help local residents who are facing the desert heat without reliable cooling. We want the community to help us find people who may not ask for help themselves.
Nominations may be submitted by a friend, family members, coworker, neighbor, or group. Nominees must own their own home and live within Hydes’ service area in the Coachella Valley. Only one nomination is needed.

Since the program began, Hydes has helped local residents with complete home comfort systems, condenser and evaporator coils, ductless mini split heat pumps, a furnace, AC repairs, and maintenance.
