What is the real meaning of hope?
Hope is an optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes. As a verb, its definitions include: “expect with confidence” and “to cherish a desire with anticipation.”
When a child is diagnosed with cancer, their world is forever changed. From the moment of diagnosis through treatment, the biggest source of strength and courage for what each day will bring comes from a deep-rooted state of Hope.
Each of our calendar models are brave cancer fighters who have faced the challenges that cancer brought into their lives head on. Some are survivors and some are current patients. They are true inspirations of HOPE to all those around them and all those who will come after them!
The 2023 Calendar highlights our brave fighters and survivors and their courageous fight against childhood cancer.
Each year in the U.S. there are an estimated 15,780* children between the ages of birth and 19 years of age who are diagnosed with cancer. We’re on a mission to be a light of hope through this difficult journey.
You never expect to hear the words “your child has cancer” – these are words that change your world forever. Support to families begins at the moment of diagnosis and remains available through every stage of treatment and beyond.
Our Mission
Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern California is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission to provide emotional, social, educational, and emergency assistance to families who have, or have had, a child with cancer.
We have served the childhood cancer community for 40 years.
