Michelle Peters has been named the President/CEO of Desert Arc and will assume this role on April 1, 2025. Ms. Peters will succeed Richard Balocco who is retiring.
Michelle brings over 30 years of experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer for Emmaus Homes in Missouri. Her impressive track record encompasses the execution of strategic initiatives yielding streamlined operations, enhanced team productivity and significant improvement in service delivery.
Prior to her 10+ year tenure with Emmaus, Michelle held various leadership and case management positions within the Missouri Department of Mental Health. She has also served as the Treasurer for Gateway Coalition of Service Providers in the St. Louis Metro Area, Starling Missouri, a statewide trade association of community providers, and, as a Board Member of Family Advocacy and Community Training.
Her deep commitment and vast experiences in the fulfillment of like-minded organizational missions to enhance the quality of life and create opportunities for people with disabilities will ensure a seamless transition and continuum of dedicated service to Desert Arc’s 700 clients. Michelle is a lady of capability, capacity and character, all attributes that Desert Arc’s Board of Directors’ Selection Committee greatly admired and we are confident that you will as well.
