Association of Fundraising Professionals CA, Desert Communities Proudly Recognizes Our Valley’s Most Outstanding Humanitarians who are “Changing the World with a Giving Heart.”
Nominations are now open for the 18th Annual National Philanthropy Awards and now is the time to recognize those in our community who embody the philanthropic spirit. From a youth who tirelessly volunteers to an outstanding fundraiser or non-profit founder who is making a significant difference, to an exceptionally generous philanthropist or an organization that has deeply affected the most underserved citizens in our community.
It’s time to celebrate Honorees in the following categories:
· Outstanding Philanthropist(s)
· Outstanding Fundraising Volunteer
· Outstanding Non-Profit Founder
· Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation, Corporation or Civic Service Organization
· Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy
· Outstanding Fundraising Professional
“National Philanthropy Day is an exciting celebration acknowledging those individuals, foundations, and businesses that have not only endured events of the last several years but have also gone above and beyond, profoundly changing the Coachella Valley with their giving hearts,” shares Josh N. Zahid, 2024 National Philanthropy Day Chair.
Nominations close Monday, April 1, 2024, and are available through afpcadesert.org or by clicking this link. A Blue-Ribbon Award Panel comprised of Coachella Valley community leaders will review the nominations. The Honorees Announcement Luncheon will take place on Friday, May 17th at 11:00 am at Agua Caliente Casino Resort & Spa. Then, save the date for National Philanthropy Day on Friday, November 1st at 11:30 am at Agua Caliente Casino Resort & Spa.
“National Philanthropy Day is my favorite event of the year. AFP honors our community’s philanthropic heroes who are actively engaged in our community and give so generously of their time, skills, talents and financial support,” adds AFP President James Lindquist. “To date, we have honored 92 individuals, businesses and organizations whose fundraising passions have created significant impact to the quality of life in the Coachella Valley. Our Valley’s nonprofits are committed to bringing forward the positive change necessary to build strong, vibrant and healthy communities.”

About National Philanthropy Day
National Philanthropy Day (NPD) honors our community’s philanthropic heroes who are actively engaged and give so generously of their time, skills, talents, and financial support. To date, the Association of Fundraising Professionals CA, Desert Communities Chapter has paid tribute to 92 individuals, businesses, foundations and organizations. Honorees are nominated through a process open to all individuals, organizations, companies and foundations in the Coachella Valley. The NPD Awards Committee, comprised of AFP fundraising professionals, reviews submitted applications, selects three nominations in each category, and sends those to an independent Blue-Ribbon Committee for review and final selection of an Honoree in each category. This year’s NPD will take place on Friday, November 1st at 11:30 am at Agua Caliente Casino Resort & Spa.
