The Palm Springs Public Library has launched a new mobile app, available for both Android and Apple devices through your app store. Just search for ‘Palm Springs Public Library’ and download the app; it’s free!
The Library’s mobile app makes it easier to find items in our collection, check-out items, and even store your library card digitally for easy use! For instance, if you’re out shopping and see a book you’re interested in, you can open our app, scan the barcode of the book and it will search the library’s collection to see if we own it. If we do then you can initiate a hold, all through the app! But if you’re already at the library and just want to check-out your items, you can use the self-checkout feature in the app to do that as well.
The app provides easy access to your account and to our online digital services. The eBooks icon gives you access to eBooks as well as downloadable music and eMagazines, plus the New York Times and Kanopy for streaming entertainment. Click on the Services icon to find information about our book clubs, passport services, and other database and research tools such as Mango Languages, HelpNow homework help, and HeritageQuest for genealogy research. Plus, keep up to date with a direct link to our events calendar; all with just a tap in the app! “We’re excited to offer a mobile app to our customers”, said Jeannie Kays, Director of Library Services, “anything we can do to make it easier for our community to use the library and our resources is a win-win!”
