Olive Crest Family Receives New Toyota – Sweepstakes Continues to Award Second New Toyota

Sweepstakes Proceeds Go Towards Preventing Child Abuse

Olive Crest, the Child Abuse Stops Here Network along with corporate sponsors gave a needy family a new car as part of a sweepstakes program. A second brand new Toyota goes to the lucky winner of the sweepstakes. Sweepstakes’ entries continue to be accepted through April 10.

Carly Robinson of Beaumont, CA and her two daughters received their new Toyota Corolla on March 24. All associated costs were covered by generous sponsors.

“We are grateful to the sponsors for making everything possible,” said Rhonda Tagge, National Director of Olive Crest. “This car represents a tremendous improvement for the Robinson family. They can now be independent by having their own transportation. Olive Crest believes that strong families help children thrive.”

Both of Robinson’s daughters have severe emotional and physical disabilities. Robinson herself is a survivor of domestic violence. She has been working with Olive Crest wrap around services for more than a year. The children had been placed in foster care for over eight months. However, after working with Olive Crest’s specialized team of support and community resources services, this mother and her girls were successfully reunited. They continue to receive counseling and assistance from Olive Crest. Robinson had been borrowing her father’s car to get her daughters to their many appointments. This new car represents a significant change for the better.

When she received the car, Robinson said she has seen many families go through similar situations and had their lives restored with Olive Crest’s assistance. This mom was completely overwhelmed by the gift of a car. “What did I do to deserve it any more than anybody else?” Robinson said. “But that little bit of recognition, a lot of recognition really, means something. I don’t want my kids to go through what I did in life. I want them to be strong enough to know they are worth more than that.”

The Sweepstakes sponsors are Larry H. Miller Toyota of Corona, Albertsons Vons Pavilions, California Olive Ranch, S&W/Faribault Food and Don Francisco’s Coffee.

The car to be awarded in the sweepstakes is a new 2021 Toyota Camry SE.

The sweepstakes started on March 10th. Sweepstakes entries include donations at the Child Abuse Stops Here Facebook page: www.facebook.com/childabusestopsherenetwork.

The public can also enter at participating sponsor websites or http://olivecrest.rallyup.com/olivecrest. This site outlines Sweepstakes rules and information about entering without a purchase.

The sweepstakes will continue through Saturday, April 10th. The drawing for the winner will be held on Monday, May 10th.

“This sweepstakes is designed to raise money to help prevent child abuse,” said Donald Verleur, Executive Director of Olive Crest. “Every ten seconds a child is abused in the US. Five children die every single day from the effects of such abuse. Every year 3.5 million children are reported as neglected or abused. The Child Abuse Stops HereNetwork works to increase awareness of abused and neglected children. The Network also raises funds to assist Child Abuse Prevention Agencies across the US.”

For Olive Crest, child abuse prevention goes beyond getting involved when a child is suffering through a crisis (abuse, neglect, isolation). It means working to put an end to the cycle of abuse before it happens.

Olive Crest has been dedicated to preventing child abuse for nearly 50 years
Olive Crest transforms the lives of at-risk children through intervention and education. The goal is to provide a strong family for every child.
Olive Crest stops child abuse is by strengthening families. When a family experiences crisis they need a caring community of people to wrap-around and support them. The goal is not to break families apart, but to help families become better.
The vision of a strong family for every child means that every child is raised and nurtured in a strong, stable, and loving family, surrounded by friends, church, and a supportive community.
Olive Crest is committed to strengthening families and keeping kids safe even when a situation seems difficult. Often these are the children and families which other organizations are not equipped to help.
Olive Crest approaches care “one life at a time®”. This is not a marketing ploy, it’s a philosophy of a whole person, individualized approach. Every child is different, every mom, dad, grandparent, and guardian, is different. By understanding each situation, Olive Crest is able to equip each individual for life, and change long-standing negative behaviors. This may seem like common sense, but it is a truly unique way of helping families.
