Palm Springs Animal Shelter Opens Volunteer Opportunities to Teens 16 and Up

Palm Springs Animal Shelter announced today that teens 16 to 17 years of age are now welcome to apply and serve in all volunteer roles without parent/guardian supervision. Parent/guardian consent is required at the time of application to volunteer, however
teens 16 to 17 years of age will no longer require a parent/guardian chaperone while performing their volunteer work.

“Palm Springs Animal Shelter is excited to expand its volunteer ranks to include older teens. The passion and dedication that this age group has to volunteerism and giving back to their community gives us so much hope for the future of animal welfare. We are proud to remove these barriers to their participation and we look forward to including our future animal welfare leaders as an integral part of our volunteer family”, said Anthony Mercurio, spokesperson for Palm Springs Animal Shelter.

Volunteer candidates are encouraged to apply online at www.psanimalshelter.org, or in-person at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter located at 4575 Mesquite Avenue in Palm Springs.
