Shelter announce the selection of Dan Rossi as its new Executive Director. Rossi will relocate to Palm Springs from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he is highly regarded for his work leading Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.
Shelter announce the selection of Dan Rossi as its new Executive Director. Rossi will relocate to Palm Springs from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he is highly regarded for his work leading Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.
“I am excited to have Dan join our team,” says Tamara Hedges, Board President of Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. “We conducted a lengthy, nationwide search, interviewing many experienced and highly skilled candidates. It was evident that Dan has the background, expertise and track record we were looking for in our Executive Director. We are confident that he, with the support of our dedicated team of staff and volunteers, will take our organization to the next level in our mission to provide life-saving services to pets and their people in the Coachella Valley and beyond.”
Mr. Rossi has been a prominent leader of animal welfare in Pittsburgh since 2010. Under his leadership, his organization experienced unprecedented growth and became the largest animal shelter in the Pittsburgh region, touching the lives of more than 25,000 animals and 30,000 households annually. Speaking on the topic of his upcoming role, Rossi says, “I am honored to have been chosen to be the next Executive Director of Palm Springs Animal Shelter. The board, staff and volunteers have already made me feel welcome and part of the shelter family. I’m eager to lead such a progressive animal shelter as well as become part of the Palm Springs community.”Mr. Rossi joins Palm Springs Animal Shelter effective January 31st, 2022.
