Palm Springs Public Library Offering Zip Books Again

The Palm Springs Public Library is happy to announce that our Zip Books program will return September 1st!

This popular program was offered last Spring through a grant from the California State Library. While we await future grant funding, the Friends of the Palm Springs Library have come to the rescue and have funded the program for another cycle!

This program allows you to request a book (limited to 5 requests—including checked out items—at a time) that isn’t currently in the Library’s collection and have it mailed directly to your home from Amazon. Zip Books are checked out to you like any other library book. When you’re done, simply return the item to the library—where it will be checked in and made available for others to use! Because Zip Books is a user-driven program, the library collection becomes more closely matched to the needs of the local community, so it’s a win-win for everyone!

It is simple to submit a request, just complete the online form available on the Library’s web site at www.pslibrary.org.

“We are thankful to the Friends of the Palm Springs Library for their assistance with funding so we could offer this program to the community again” said Jeannie Kays, Director of Library Services.

A Palm Springs Library card is required to utilize this program and the items, like other library items, are subject to loan time limits and other borrowing guidelines. Request a book at our web site at www.pslibrary.org.

The Palm Springs Public Library is located at 300 S. Sunrise Way, on the corner of Sunrise Way and Baristo Road.
