Palm Springs Women in Film & Television to Host a ‘Cast a Crew Screening’ of Two Short Films Produced Locally: Tickets Available to the Public

The community is being welcomed to join the cast and crew of two short films produced by Palm Springs Women in Film & Television (PSWIFT) at a special screening on June 17, 2021, at the Palm Springs Cultural Center (Camelot Theater) beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The films — “Accidental Date” and “Aftermath”— were both filmed in Palm Springs in recent months as part of PSWIFT’s educational Filmmakers Lab. The first short film, “Accidental Date,” has been named a finalist in the Dubai International Film Festival, a semi-finalist in the San Francisco Shorts Fest, a semi-finalist in Florida Shorts and a finalist in the Vancouver Independent Film Festival. “Aftermath” was just completed and has not yet been submitted to festivals.

“To have two short films that have been 100% produced by members of PSWIFT is monumental,” said Kim Waltrip, president of Palm Springs Women in Film & Television. “It’s a new day at PSWIFT, and we’re getting more involved in the true mission of Palm Springs Women in Film & Television – fostering new opportunities for filmmakers in our region to be more involved in the industry through a variety of creative projects. Watch for so much more to come!”

“Accidental Date” is an endearing love letter to Palm Springs, featuring some iconic Palm Springs characters and locations. “Aftermath” is a powerful story of a woman coping with her past.

The June 17th Cast & Crew Screening has two ticket options: One is VIP, which is $35 and includes a private cocktail reception and reserved seating; and the other is General, which is $15. VIP seating is limited, and is expected to sell out.

The Palm Springs Cultural Center (Camelot Theater) is located at 2300 E. Baristo Road in Palm Springs. For more information, to purchase tickets or to become a member, visit www.pswift.org.
