Puppy Raisers Needed!

Guide Dogs of the Desert has been serving visually impaired individuals in our community and nationwide for over 50 years. Guide Dogs of the Desert provides custom-trained dogs to each student’s individual needs. Our services continue for the lifetime of the team and are free of charge to the student.

Guide Dogs of the Desert focuses on:
• Breeding our own Labrador Retrievers and Standard Poodles.
• Enlisting community volunteers to be Volunteer Puppy Raisers.
• Training our puppies to become Guide Dogs and Support Dogs.
• Matching and training our dogs to the individual or group that needs them.

Volunteer Puppy Raisers are needed to develop our dogs into successful Guide Dogs. Not only will you change a person’s life, your own life will be changed in this rewarding experience. From socialization to introducing puppies to fundamental skills, our volunteer families receive never-ending love from our dogs. Through love and training, Puppy Raisers set our dogs up for success no matter the dog’s career path. Puppy Raisers help ensure that our dogs grow to provide love, companionship, and the miracles of independence and comfort to those who need them.
