Ronnie’s House for Hope is the Coachella Valley’s only peer support grief center serving children and their families following the death of a loved one is having their Grand Opening. Ronnie’s House for Hope starting serving the community in 2018, providing a safe space for children, teens and their families after a death. Through art, building a community with other who have shared experiences, sharing, music, and play children are allowed to process and understand their grief. Children grieve different than adults and their grief is a lifelong experience changing as they grow. It is an environment that encourages talking about how we feel, learning coping skills and understanding helping to build resiliency in our youth. Research shows a grieving child is at a higher risk negative effects like poor grades, isolation, depression, anxiety, substance use, and even suicide to name a few. Giving them coping skills and a safe space to process grief can reduce this risk allowing them go grow into the who ever they want to be. In 2020 Ronnie’s House for Hope also Our new center is located in Palm Desert in the Berger Charitable Building at 42600 Cook St. Ste 217. This new center allowed us to significantly increase the number of families who can receive support. Our Grand Opening is on March 6, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. We will have a grief activity available so supporters can get an idea of what our children do in groups, have a snack and see what makes Ronnie’s House for Hope so special.
