The Lucky Duck Foundation

The Lucky Duck Foundation held its annual Showcase Soirée on Sept. 17, in celebration of the nonprofit’s 21st anniversary and the milestone of raising more than $50 million to aid those in need throughout San Diego County.
The Lucky Duck Foundation doubled-down on its prioritization of youth and seniors – featuring youth speakers who benefited directly from the employment programs and transitional housing the nonprofit kick-started. The organization also grew its Legacy Society by three members, drawing closer to achieving its $625,000 Legacy Society matching challenge from David & Vala Lueth.
The Monarch School was awarded $250,000 as Lucky Duck Foundation’s “Father Joe Hustler of the Year,” an annual award recognizing an individual or organization that embodies the late Father Joe Carroll’s spirit and ability to help those experiencing homelessness.
The Soirée – held at Estancia La Jolla – featured an Olympics-themed competition between tables, live music, a live auction, awards ceremony, surf & turf dinner, casino games, open bars, many heartwarming stories, and much more. The event was emceed by sportscaster Neil Everett and professional golfer and broadcast analyst Peter Jacobsen.
