The Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce presents a Star Dedication for Dr. Frank Ercoli, Trauma Surgeon and Humanitarian on the World-Famous Walk of the Stars in Palm Springs on Friday, November 12

Frank Ercoli, MD, FACS,
Trauma Surgeon, Philanthropist, and beloved member of the Palm
Springs community, who passed in 2020, will be honored with the
446th star on the City’s world-famous Walk of the Stars Palm
Springs on Friday, November 12, 2021.

The Star Dedication, organized by the Palm Springs Chamber of
Commerce, is FREE and open to the public and will take place at 3:00 PM. Dr. Ercoli’s star will be
installed next to his friend, the late Dr. Scott Aaronson’s star at 120 North Palm Canyon Drive at W.
Tahquitz Canyon Way. The event will be emceed by Local radio personality, Dan McGrath. Dr. Ercoli will
be acknowledged for his contributions to trauma medicine and for his generous philanthropic
contributions to our valley. Guest speakers remembering Dr. Ercoli include Heidi Anderson, Linda Evans,
and Peter Scheer.

Board-certified in surgery and surgical critical care, Dr. Ercoli came to Desert Regional Medical Center in
1989 and served as the medical director of the G.A. Richards Trauma Center when it opened in 1993.
During his time at the Trauma Center. Dr. Ercoli estimated the center treated well over 50,000 critically
ill or injured patients. If you were treated by Dr. Frank Ercoli, you were under the care of one of the best
trauma surgeons there was.

Dr. Ercoli met and bonded with Lord James Hanson over the discussion of the helicopters bringing
trauma patients to DRMC. When Lord Hanson had money to donate, it became the seed for the
development of Hanson House, the only hospital hospitality house in the Coachella Valley. Hanson
House is a “home away from home” for the loved ones of critically ill and injured hospitalized patients.
They provide a place to stay for families of trauma and ICU patients, cancer patients receiving
chemotherapy and radiation treatment, parents of newborn babies critically ill in the Neonatal Intensive
Care Unit (NICU), including military families from the Marine base at Twenty-Nine Palms and all families
of First Responders. Their services are provided at low or no cost. No one is turned away because of an
inability to pay.

Dr. Ercoli’s widow Candace, along with their sons, Robert, Chris, and Daniel will attend the event.

Immediately following the event, there will be a wine and appetizer fundraising reception at the Hanson

House, at 380 E. Paseo El Mirador. www.hansonhouse.org.

“Walk of the Stars and the Chamber of Commerce are proud to honor Dr. Frank Ercoli, Trauma Surgeon,
Musician and Humanitarian,” said Nona Watson, CEO of Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce.
