The RAP Foundation Offers Emergency Funding of $200,000 to address the impact of COVID-19 on our community. (DEADLINE QUICKLY APPROACHING)

The Regional Access Project Foundation Board ratified Emergency Funding of $200,000 to address the impact of COVID-19 on our community. RAP funds will be contributed through a collaborative effort with the Desert Healthcare District, the United Way of the Desert, Lift to Rise, the Inland Empire Community Foundation, the Office of County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez, the County of Riverside Housing Authority, Department of Public Social Services, and others in three collective efforts to address the current crisis.

The RAP Foundation will be providing $200,000 towards the following:

$100,000 to add to the Desert Healthcare District’s (DHCD) $200,000 for a total amount of $300,000 for local nonprofits serving our higher-risk populations negatively impacted such as senior and homeless populations.
$50,000 to assist healthcare workers in providing direct services to people who are ill and potentially have COVID-19. This is in collaboration with the Desert Healthcare District.

All applications are due by April 1, 2020, at 5:00 PM. RAP and DHCD will review applications and determine which organizations will be awarded a grant as soon as early April.

Additionally, the RAP Foundation will provide funding to alleviate the immediate pain and help local families be prepared for an extended economic downturn. Toward that end, RAP has come together with a variety of stakeholders in an unprecedented and coordinated public-private effort. RAP will provide:

$50,000 to contribute to an Economic Protection fund along with the Desert Healthcare District, United Way of the Desert, the Inland Empire Community Foundation, Lift To Rise, the County of Riverside Housing Authority, Department of Public Social Services and Public Health and Supervisor V. Manuel Perez in assisting residents to connect to immediate and long-term financial resources.

The deadlines for this funding are quickly approaching. The funding itself will be awarded in a timely fashion to address the Coronavirus crisis at hand.
