VAXIE Introduces Free Service to Help Local Residents Book Vaccine Appointments Online

Volunteer-based group helps navigate complex scheduling challenges for Seniors and other local residents

VAXIE, a volunteer organization working to connect local residents with COVID-19 vaccination resources in the Inland Empire, today introduced the VAXIE Warmline, a free, new service that helps seniors and other local residents to navigate the always changing Covid-19 vaccination system. Leveraging their knowledge of the complex processes and a growing volunteer base, VAXIE has developed this free service to get more qualified residents, especially those without computers, in the Inland Empire who want to be vaccinated scheduled in with appointments.

“Technology should not be the barrier to getting vaccinated, nor should hard to navigate information,” said Rhea Hoffman, Co-Creator of VAXIE. “We need to support our local residents who cannot make these appointments themselves. We are so proud of our volunteers who are stepping up to help others so that this service can be offered to all who need it, free of charge.”

Due to confusing systems requiring users to spend hours searching for appointments online or by phone, increasing numbers of local residents are feeling frustrated with the vaccine appointment process. With the availability of the VAXIE Warmline, residents simply leave a message with their name, phone number, zip code and preferred language. A trained volunteer will call them back to get details and schedule the appointment for them.

In less than a month, VAXIE volunteers have booked more than 500 appointments for qualified individuals who needed extra help finding or booking a vaccine appointment. With the new VAXIE Warmline, more individuals will be able to get vaccine appointments that may have otherwise been inaccessible. The VAXIE Warmline is 760-833-0569 and currently supports English and Spanish language residents.

Additionally, VAXIE offers appointment resources on their website, VAXIE.info, for individuals who can book their own appointments, but need help navigating all of the options to find something that will work for them. VAXIE also posts live appointment opportunities to their Facebook page to help alert followers when vaccine appointments are available to help alleviate the problem of having to spend hours searching for them for themselves and their loved ones.
