Bob Hope USO: Your ongoing support has impacted the service members and their families

LOS ANGELES

Bob Hope USO at LAX is ready for the holidays! Los Angeles International Airport experiences an increase of travelers in the month of December, and our center experiences the same increase. As a major airport hub, travelers often have long layovers or may be dropped off hours before their flight. The Bob Hope USO at LAX is extending their hours to accommodate the service members and their families that find themselves at LAX for long periods of time. Volunteers will be ready to serve hot dogs, a warm cup of coffee, and assist travelers in wayfinding their way through the chaos of airport traffic to help make their travels home for the holidays the best experience possible.

ORANGE COUNTY

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…for military holiday parties! Bob Hope USO Orange County supported service members and their families by providing cookie decoration stations at their unit parties. This fun and delicious activity provided entertainment for both the kids and adults! Orange County has many National Guard and Reserve units. These holiday parties serve as one of the few times during the year that the families come together and the USO is proud to be part of these special celebrations during the holiday season.

DESERT AREA

Cookies during the holiday season bring a taste of home to many service members. Bob Hope USO delivered holiday cookies to over 1,500 Marines and military family members stationed at MCAGCC TwentyNine Palms during the month of December! Many of these Marines may not have the opportunity to travel home and enjoy their favorite family holiday treat recipes, and while the cookies may not be the same, they are served with the same ingredient….LOVE! Our volunteers love making events feel like home and spreading holiday cheer across the base!

INLAND EMPIRE

HO HO HO! Santa made a stop in his busy schedule to visit the Bob Hope USO at March Air Reserve Base and share some holiday spirit with deploying Marines. While these Marines may not be home for the holidays, the USO team made sure they had a special holiday experience before heading overseas. Each holiday season we remember the military families and the sacrifices they make by spending holidays separated from loved ones. The USO is thankful to support these families during seasons, such as this, and focus on keeping service members connected to family, home, and country no matter where they are during the holiday season.

CENTRAL CALIFORNIA

When military installations are geographically distanced from USO Centers, they often don’t get the benefit of the USO supporting their holiday festivities. This year, the Bob Hope USO outreach team brought the holidays to these units! From delivering USO Holiday Care Packages to the US Coast Guard stationed in Santa Barbara and Morro Bay to supporting National Guard holiday parties at Camp San Luis Obispo, the USO was there!
