COD Foundation’s “Stepping Out” Returns to the Big Stage to Support Their Most Underserved Students

Matthew and Gunnar Nelson to Headline Stepping Out for COD 2023

COD Foundation’s most important fundraiser of the year, Stepping Out for COD Foundation 2023 will be held on March 30, 2023, at 7pm at the McCallum Theatre and will benefit the Fund for Student Success.

The Nelson family legacy continues as Ricky’s identical twins Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, Triple Platinum recording artists, present an interactive, multi-media rock & roll concert experience, performing America’s first teen idol Ricky Nelson’s greatest hits taking the audience on a musical journey down memory lane. This show is truly a slice of Americana!

Ricky Nelson Remembered brings back three generations of hit making songs such as “Poor Little Fool”, “Hello Mary Lou”, “Travelin’ Man”, “I’m Walking”, “Garden Party”, alongside their self-penned chart toppers “Love & Affection” and “After the Rain”. A musical celebration of rock & roll hall of famer Ricky Nelson established himself as one of the most important rock artists and influential musicians of the last 50 years, selling over 140 million recordings.

Join Stepping Out Co-chairs Bill Chunowitz, Tom Minder and Rob Moon in supporting COD students. Nearly two-thirds of COD students qualify for some form of financial assistance, but traditional scholarship support rarely extends to all educational needs. The cost of books and class related supplies alone can cost several thousands of dollars, leaving many students with limited options for program fees and supplies, affordable childcare, technology and equipment. With your support, you can empower students by removing financial barriers. Your generous investment gives them a chance to succeed in college today and create a better life and community tomorrow.

For more than 60 years, COD has made it possible for local students to pursue their academic dreams. In turn, these students become skilled nurses, firefighters, EMTs, chefs, hoteliers, architects, entrepreneurs, and business leaders of 125,000 alumni strong, who give back to our community, as well as generating over $300 million annually to our local economy.

“Your generous gift helps the COD Foundation meet the most pressing initiatives on campus, enrich academic programming and resources, and support student’s most basic needs ultimately providing them with the opportunity to spread their wings and achieve their educational dreams.”

Support deserving COD students and purchase tickets through the McCallum website or call 760.340.2787. We look forward to you joining us on March 30th to celebrate this memorable and entertaining evening. To sponsor the event, please contact Catherine Abbott, at 760.773.7561.
