Amidst the new guidance from the California Department of Public Health on group gatherings in the state, we’re being thoughtful about our responsibility and commitment to care for each other, in community and with compassion. Specifically, the guidance recommends that groups most at risk for contracting COVID-19 – including older adults, people living with HIV, and others — avoid gathering in groups of 10 or more through the end of the month.
Our obligation to community and connection drives our work every day. With an eye on the future of our collective health and longevity, we are making the decision to follow the recommendations of the expert public health officials in an effort to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus by suspending or changing current programming at The Center and/or sponsored by The Center effective immediately, through Tuesday, March 31st.
What Does This Mean?
Those attending group therapy should contact their group Facilitator for group scheduling.
12-step programs should contact their meeting Secretary or group Rep for more information.
All peer-facilitated social and support groups, are cancelled effective immediately.
All group programming, such as Trans Tuesdays and Women’s and Men’s Chat Groups, is cancelled effective immediately.
All groups renting space at The Center during this closure period will be offered a refund.
The Center Social scheduled Wednesday, March 25th is cancelled.
The Community Food Bank @ The Center will provide distribution as planned on Thursday, March 12th. Given food distribution is an essential event, we expect to continue this program and are evaluating best practices.
The Center will continue to be open during our normal operating hours for individual behavioral health counseling, cyber center usage, as well as resources and referrals at our front desk.
Our hours of administrative operation are Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.
