The Palm Springs Public Library Offers FREE Monthly Virtual Author Events!

The Palm Springs Public Library has joined the Library Speakers Consortium to begin offering virtual author events from a range of bestselling
authors and thought leaders. This new, online-only program is free for patrons to register and attend any of the scheduled presentations, or view past presentations.Simply go to the Library’s site at https://libraryc.org/pspl to see the upcoming speakers and sign up. Once you register to attend an event you will get a reminder email and a link to log in and view the program live online. Two to four bestselling-author events will be offered and streamed per month. Participants can ask questions directly to the author as part of these live, interactive events.

By joining this consortium, the library can offer a wide range of author events since the consortium pools the resources of many library systems to dramatically expand access to these programs for all participating libraries and their patrons. The Library Speakers Consortium has more than 150-member library systems ranging in size from less than 100 to more than 2 million patrons.

Books and authors selected by the consortium cover a wide range of fiction and non-fiction genres including contemporary and historical fiction, romance, poetry, business, personal growth, social justice, history, art, culture and more. There is also a strong commitment to offering a diverse mix of perspectives and will ensure that half or more of speakers will be women and/or people of color. The four featured authors in August comprise one Pulitzer prize-winner and three New York Times best-selling authors presenting a fiction story, a memoir, an examination of leadership and an important social issue.

The Palm Springs Public Library offers a varied and comprehensive collection to the community. The Library is located at 300 S. Sunrise Way, on the corner of Sunrise Way and Baristo Road.
