Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians Delivered 700 Backpacks to CVUSD

A donation of 700 backpacks filled with essential school supplies for elementary school students to kick-off the start of the school year in the Coachella Valley Unified School District. This has become an annual donation from the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians and their continued commitment to the future of our youth.

 Chairman Darrell Mike shares, “The Coachella Valley Unified School District is so important to our community’s future by providing an exceptional education. The Tribe wants to help kids who live in the district by providing them with the tools they need to succeed throughout the school year.”

Dr. Frances Esparza, CVUSD Superintendent shares, “We are thrilled to announce an exciting backpack giveaway for our incredible students/champions! This generous initiative aims to equip our youth with the tools they need to succeed in the coming school year. A special thank you goes to Chairman Darrel Mike of the 29 Palms Band of Mission Indians for his unwavering support and commitment to our Coachella Valley Unified School Community. His dedication to fostering educational growth and community spirit truly embodies the values we cherish. Thanks to his leadership, we are able to make a positive impact on the lives of our students, setting them up for a bright and successful future.”
