Palm Springs Women in Film & Television (PSWIFT) has announced two upcoming events, which are open to both members and nonmembers.
MARCH 10: Book Preview Party for The Woman Beyond the Attic: The V.C. Andrews Story
This special evening featuring a book preview with locally-based best-selling novelist, Andrew Neiderman, will be held March 10, 2022 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Palm Springs home of PSWIFT Board Member, Melissa Neiderman. Andrew has been the ghost writer for V.C. Andrews for over 36 years, and just released the long-awaited story of V.C. Andrews, herself, in The Woman Behind the Attic.
The biography reveals an intimate portrait of the famously private V.C. Andrews – including family photos, personal letters, and many secrets of her own. Lifetime Network’s production of Flowers in the Attic broke records, garnering 6.1 million viewers for the premiere. As a result, Lifetime has and will be producing many more films based on the V.C. Andrews series.
A limited number of tickets include a copy of the book, which will be personally autographed by Neiderman at the event. Tickets are $25 for PSWIFT members (including a copy of the book) while supplies last; $35 for non-members (including a copy of the book) while supplies last; and a $20 ticket without the inclusion of the book for those who have already purchased their own copy or would just like to attend.
APRIL 6: Star-studded 20th Anniversary Celebration
Palm Springs Women in Film & Television will be commemorating its 20th Anniversary the evening of April 6, 2022, 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Mary Pickford Theater in Cathedral City. Longtime PSWIFT supporters – actresses Donna Mills and Shari Belafonte – will be recognized as “Above & Beyond” honorees, and the Founder Award will be presented to Leanna Bonamici.
The evening will also include red carpet photo opportunities, music, food, drinks, screenings, networking and a special program reflecting on the nonprofit’s 20 years dedicated to offering growth opportunities for both men and women in the Palm Springs region who are involved in entertainment, new media and creative arts.
Tickets are $75 for PSWIFT members, and $85 for non-members.
